Alternative Medicine Bach Flower Remedy for Personality Problems Part 2
About the form of alternative medicine known as Bach Flower remedy, history and information of the science that uses flowers to treat personality problems.
The Bach Flower Remedies
Most of the extracts are prepared by filling a bowl with fresh spring water and placing several handfuls of wild flowers in it, and then letting it steep for 4 hours in the hot sun. Others are prepared by simmering the flowers in water. The remedies can be taken as frequently as needed, and in combination.
Dr. Bach scandalized the medical profession of the time with his revolutionary ideas, but patients continued to flock to him and many physicians began to use the remedies, with amazing success. All manners of disease--from chronic to seemingly incurable diseases--succumbed to the flowers.
Dr. Bach himself became so sensitive toward the end of his life that even the briefest visit to the noise and crowds of the city upset him and worsened his health, so he established his headquarters in the countryside of Berkshire, England. According to Dr. Bach, when he was seeking the last of the remedies, he would become severely afflicted with the mental symptoms common to that remedy, as well as a painful physical disorder of some kind, just prior to finding the right flower. Upon taking the newly discovered remedy, his symptoms would vanish immediately.
Dr. Bach also was reported to have the power to heal patients merely by touching them, and he would sometimes develop in advance the symptoms of his patients before they came to see him. Dr. Bach was always nearly penniless. He refused to charge his patients any fees, saying that health was mankind's right. Because he was exceedingly generous, Bach never charged above the absolute minimum for the pamphlets he published about his medical discoveries. Said Dr. Bach, "I want to make it as simple as this: I am hungry, I will go and pull a lettuce from the garden for my tea. I am frightened and ill, I will take a dose of mimulus."
He died in 1936 at the age of 50, leaving behind him a few published writings on his work, and one of the most unique systems for self-healing still used today.
