His Person: German philosopher and teacher whose beliefs revolved around "the systematic method of developing the absolute spirit" in all phases of life. Began study for the ministry but preferred study of philosophy. Fought to overcome opposing viewpoints presented by religion and philosophy, but also presented "one of the most influential sources of contemporary atheism." Wrote: The Phenomenology of the Spirit, The Philosophy of Right.
His Belief: "Without the world God is not God."
