Einstein Formulates the Theory of Relativity

About the history of Albert Einstein as he published the Theory of Relativity in 1905, the inventions it led to.

A 26-year-old unknown, Einstein, working in a Swiss patent office, published a paper, "Special Theory of Relativity." Einstein's relativity theories stated that light did not follow some of Newton's fundamental laws of motion, that nothing can move faster than the speed of light, that mass and energy and space and time are related far more than had been thought. The basic principles of his theory led to the electron microscope, television, the electric eye--and the atom bomb.
