Publishes The Single Parent magazine, which features articles on such topics as child-rearing, income taxes, remarriage, psychological problems and adjustments, plus many others. . . . Founded in 1970. Purpose is to eliminate pay toilets in the U.S. through legislation and public pressure. Ira Gessel, founder and 1st president of CEPTIA, states, "When a man's or woman's natural body functions are restricted because he or she doesn't have a piece of change, there is no true freedom." Membership cost is 25 cent and entitles you to a subscription to their publication, Free Toilet Paper. Sponsors annual Thomas Crapper Memorial Award which is given to "the person who has made an outstanding contribution to the cause of CEPTIA and free toilets." 1,500 members, 7 chapters.

. . . Founded in 1945 "to encourage the collection, preservation, and study of political Americana." APIC follows the paths of political candidates, and its quarterly publication, The Keynoter, contains feature articles on candidates, parties, and campaigns. A Committee on Ethics "alerts the membership to the output of fake items (brummagem) and the organization strives to curb the production and distribution of such items, denouncing all fake items." Collectibles include buttons, jewelry, sheet music, tokens, medals, badges, ribbons, posters, canes, ballots, handbills, and other novelty items. Cost is $8 annually. 2,000 members, 35 chapters.
