About kumquats, information about the fruit, production, history and varieties in the world.


Widely grown in China and cultivated throughout the subtropics as well as Southern California and Florida. The Chinese use them as a candied fruit. They are eaten fresh (the skin is also edible), preserved, or made into jams. Branches are used as Christmas decorations. Kumquats are rich in vitamin A.
