It is said that Land 1st started thinking about the Polaroid camera when his young daughter wanted to see pictures he had just snapped of her. The idea that she would have to wait days for them to be developed upset her so that he wondered why there couldn't be a technique for snapping them and, very shortly thereafter, showing them to the subject.
