About Edgar Allen Poe who in 1835 wrote the sci-fi work The Unparalled Adventures of One Hans Pfall.

--1835. The unparalleled Edgar Allan Poe entered the area of moon voyages with The Unparalleled Adventures of One Hans Pfall, unquestionably influenced by Professor Tucker's book. Poe had Hans make his voyage in a balloon aided by a machine for condensing air; however, Poe's sense of the ridiculous overcame him and he never finished the "2nd part" of the story.
