Science Fiction History: 1839 A Fantastical Excursion to All the Planets

About the novel A Fantastical Excursion into the Planets written anonymously which chronicled a trip to all known planets.

--1839. Anonymously, without so much as a pseudonym, A Fantastical Excursion into the Planets appeared, one of the earliest descriptions--if not the earliest description--of a trip to all the then-known planets--including a few planetoids or asteroids. All were said to be inhabited. Every prospect was pleasing, and only Mars was barren. (However, it had a flourishing mining industry.)
