Where Buried: Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, La. (1889-1893).

Gravestone: Life-size statue of Davis on large rectangular stone base.

Epitaph: "An American Soldier and Defender of the Constitution. Faithful to all trusts, a martyr to principle. He lived and died the most consistent of American Soldiers and Statesmen."

Footstone: "At Rest Deo Vendice."

Amen: Reburied in 1893, in Jefferson Davis Circle, Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va.
