Famous Last Will and Testament Inventor Guglielmo Marconi

About the last will and testament of famous Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi.

GUGLIELMO MARCONI, Italian inventor, died 1937

Last Will: Two pages handwritten in 1935 left the bulk of his estimated $25 million fortune to his seven-year-old daughter, Maria Elettra, only child of his second marriage. His widow and three children by a previous marriage received only the minimum permitted by Italian law. Publication of the will evoked astonishment that no bequests were made to his first wife, friends, and collaborators, or to charities-not even to Italian Fascist organizations, in which the wireless wizard was active.
