Hollow Earth Society, RR #1, Box 63, Houston, Mo. 65483. Founded in 1977 "to launch an expedition by small Zeppelin to the South Polar Aperture and make contact with the people who inhabit the hollow earth." There are no membership dues. Those who want to join should write to the society and express interest in supporting the proposed expedition. At present the society issues no publications. 190 members.

Hostels, Inc., American Youth, Delaplane, Va. 22025. Founded in 1934 as a nonprofit service "to encourage educational and recreational travel for all, especially young people, by providing hostels-simple, inexpensive, overnight facilities." The organization's first honorary presidents were Pres. and Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Publishes an annual Hostel Guide & Handbook (free with membership) which lists the 175 hostels in the U.S. and gives pertinent information on each. Sponsors year-round travel programs through its affiliated chapters. Annual fees are $5 per year for those under 18 and $11 for those over 18. Since it is a member of the International Youth Hostel Federation, membership cards are valid in 48 countries around the world. 70,000 members, 30 chapters.
