UNCOMMON STORIES BEHIND COMMON WORDS
Nostalgia - When Johannes Hofer coined nostalgia in 1668 by combining the Greek words nostos, "return home," and algos, "pain," it meant, in the words of the Oxford English Dictionary, "a form of melancholia caused by prolonged absence from one's home or country."
