Planet X - Lore, Myths, and Legends

About Planet X, lore, myths, legends, and theories from different cultures.

Lore: Ancient peoples knew nothing of planets beyond Saturn, but since the discovery of Neptune and its deviation from the calculated orbit, some astronomers have predicted that other planets lie beyond it. As early as 1909, W. H. Pickering calculated the existence of a remote, massive planet. After Clyde Tombaugh discovered an unexpectedly small Pluto in 1930, he continued to search for other planets until 1945, thinking the main body was yet to be found. Pluto didn't fit the theory of a massive planet needed to push Neptune and Uranus around in orbit. Maybe something else was out there.
