Combining Old-Age Homes with Orphanages

I"ve got an idea that would help out two sets of lonely and neglected people: orphans and senior citizens. Why not combine an orphanage and a retirement home in the same building? The greatest need that orphans have is for love and affection and attention. And who is better qualified to provide it than the elderly who have been forced to move out of their homes into board-and-care facilities? These people are an untapped resource, most of whom would like nothing better than to have a purpose and to be useful. The old people could take care of the new people while the new people took care of the old people. These two generations rarely have any contact with each other, yet they could benefit from it. Why not give it a try?
