About the Oklahoma Plymouth time capsule in Tulsa which will be opened in 2007, history of the capsule.

Oklahoma Plymouth

In 1957 the state of Oklahoma buried a 1957 Plymouth in a capsule in Tulsa in celebration of the state's 50th anniversary. The capsule is scheduled to be opened in 2007. The Plymouth will then be awarded to the individual, or his heirs, who came closest in 1957 to guessing Tulsa's population in 2007. A Plymouth was selected, according to the celebration chairman, because it was "an advanced product of American industrial ingenuity with the kind of lasting appeal that will still be in style 50 years from now." Fortunately, the car was supplied with a full tank of gas.
